Almost two dozen Gonzales youth attended the Big Sur Trust Nature Camp at Glen Deven Ranch in Big Sur for three days, from July 16 to 18.

Below, the Salvation Army Camp Redwood Glen included 44 South County youth who participated in the six-day camp, running from July 23-28.

SOUTH COUNTY — More than 100 youth between the ages of 10 and 13 recently attended Camp Redwood Glen, and 44 of those were from South Monterey County.

The camp, which was free thanks to efforts made by the Salvation Army, took place from July 23 to 28. Also, 23 Gonzales youth were part of the Big Sur Trust Nature Camp at the Glen Deven Ranch in Big Sur from July 16 to 18.

Youth campers were transported to camp for free. During camp they played games, went on adventures and learned about and experienced nature. The camp included some focus on religion as well.

The camp was part of a partnership between the Gonzales Youth Guardians and Big Sur Trust, aided by Maury Treleven.
