Cross country runners from all four South County high schools traveled to Toro Regional Park in Salinas to run in the Monterey Bay Invitational.
Weeks of training will be put to the test on Friday as football teams from King City, Greenfield, Gonzales and host Soledad High suit up for the South County Jamboree.

In their only dual meet and home meet of the season, the Gonzales High varsity boys cross country team defeated the Soledad Aztecs by a 24-35 score.
With four games left in the regular season the Soledad High Aztec baseball team is taking aim at first place this week with just one game separating them from the first place Pacific Grove Breakers.
Road runners will be gathering at the Soledad Mission and on River Road in Gonzales on Saturday for the Salinas Valley Half Marathon and 5K.
The King City Lady Mustang softball team defeated MTAL rival Gonzales 18-0 in the last home game of the season and team’s Senior Night.
With two home wins last week the Gonzales boys basketball team is 3-0 and in first place in the Coastal League. The Spartans improved to 5-8 overall with the victories over Marina and Pacific Point.
Seven South County runners were among the top placers at Saturday’s Salinas Valley Half Marathon and 5K.
