GONZALES — Gonzales residents cleaned out their homes, bringing items to the residential Reuse, Recycle and Clean-Up days event June 22 and 23 at Fairview Middle School.

The items collected were sorted into various containers, including truck beds for mattresses, dressers, TVs, computers and an area for items that were still in good condition and could be passed along.

Helping out during the event was the Gonzales High School Cheerleading team, which helped carry items to the different areas.

There was also a composting workshop June 22 to teach residents about composting, with a raffle prize at the end.
