GONZALES — City of Gonzales along with Tri-Cities Disposal and Recycling are set to host a “Reuse, Recycle, and Cleanup” weekend June 23-24.

The cleanup weekend will be at Fairview Middle School from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with disposal of paint, batteries and hazardous waste only on Saturday.

The items that will be accepted include general garbage, mattresses, electronics, TVs, computers and metal and steel appliances, such as refrigerators and freezers. No yard waste will be accepted during the event.

On Saturday, June 23, there will be a composting workshop that will teach participants about starting a composting pile. The workshop will be from 11 a.m. to noon at the middle school.

The event offers the chance to win a composter, and is presented by Gonzales Grows Green, a sustainable community initiative. The cleanup weekend is only available to Gonzales residents.
