SALINAS — Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley, Inc. (MOWSV) has announced that Robyn Chamberlin has joined the current Board of Directors as incoming treasurer.

Chamberlin is a director at Hayashi Wayland Accounting and Consulting, LLP with over 30 years of experience in managing and in the Consulting Group. Chamberlin will bring a unique perspective to the board.

“Robyn comes to us with over 30 years of experience in managing and in the Consulting Group. Her areas of expertise include taxes and Quickbooks consulting,” said Regina Gage, executive director. “We are confident that her skills and experience will help us continue our mission to deliver meals to homebound seniors who cannot shop or cook for themselves.”

The position of Community Outreach Specialist with MOWSV has been filled by Laurie Bend, who brings 25 years of expertise in graphic design, marketing and networking skills to this position. Bend will interact with the community, clients, volunteers and donors to expand the message and services of MOWSV.

“Laurie’s experience in marketing and media will be instrumental in spreading the word about our mission, supporting staff and the board,” said Gage. “And, she’s excited to be a part of the planning for our 45th Anniversary Celebration and Fundraiser event in September.”

This year marks a milestone for Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley — 45 years of service to the Salinas Valley community. Since its beginnings in 1972, Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley, Inc. has been delivering nutritious meals to seniors who are homebound and cannot shop and cook for themselves and so much more. With the support of generous donors, the program continues to fulfill its mission — as long as people need a helping hand and a good meal.
