The Chicano All Stars will play at the final Summer Concert Series.

GONZALES — A final summer concert is coming to Pessagno Winery on Sept. 29, as the Gonzales winery wraps up its Summer Concert Series.

The Summer Concert Series started at the beginning of the summer with a concert on June 23 and continued with concerts each month, with the final scheduled at the end of September.

According to Tasting Room Manager Rebecca Carranza, Pessagno Winery actually built the stage the bands performed on. The concert stage will be moved to the parking lot of the winery and will be where eventgoers can enjoy the music, some wine and food.

“For next year, the Owner Ray Franscioni is thinking about doing something behind the Tasting Room,” Carranza said. “Putting lawn and possibly doing the concert there,” Carranza added.

Although this is Pessagno Winery’s first Summer Concert Series, the venue has hosted small bands in its outdoor seating area.

The Franscioni family, however, decided they wanted to bring out a few bigger bands.

The final summer concert, beginning at noon and lasting until 6 p.m., includes performances by Lang Street and the Chicano All Stars.

Lang Street is a rock blues band.

Sammy Martinez, a Gonzales resident and owner of Sam’z School of Rock in Salinas, is the lead of the Chicano All Stars.

The concert is free. Wine will be served, along with pizzas made from the pizza oven. Pessagno Winery is at 1645 River Road.
