On Saturday May 12, 2018, Betty Rubbo passed away. She was born in Olathe, KS and moved to Gonzales as a young child. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Endo and her family.

She was involved in many organizations in Gonzales throughout her life including the city’s first Polio drive, PTA, American Legion, the Cub and Boy Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts and the Gonzales Senior Citizens. She spent her working years as a bookkeeper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmelindo (Endo) Rubbo. She was the mother of Gordon (Lynda) Rubbo and Joan (Manuel) Calabro. She was a grandmother and great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by her family, friends and beloved cat Babe, who has been her close companion during her later years.

At Betty’s request there will be no services. The family will have a private memorial at a later date to remember and celebrate her life.

Donations can be made to Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley, the SPCA or any charity of the donor’s choice.
