SOUTH COUNTY — The City of Gonzales recently was host to Assemblymember Anna Caballero’s Young Legislators Program, which concluded July 27 with a trip to the state capitol in Sacramento.

The Gonzales group, which included 17 students from Gonzales and Soledad, met up with the Hollister cohort during the trip, led by Caballero who spoke about the process of getting a bill to become a law in California.

The Young Legislators Program was a three-week program that included seminars, activities and a series of guest speakers all geared toward educating students about California government and politics as well as opportunities to become civically engaged in their communities.
